Your comparison of the 1957 Vyatka with a Vespa seems very unfair. The Vyatka was of 150ccs; a 1957 Vespa 150 produced 5.4hp for a top speed of 80km/h (presumably due to being lighter). The drastically different figures used for the comparison are for the 150 Gran Sport; a very sporting (and uneconomical, with increased compression, over-sized carb and a very rich 6% oil mixture) proposition which also cost a good chunk more than a regular 150 Vespa due to a four-speed transmission and various special tuning parts.
